What iS a
Wellness Coach?
A wellness coach is someone who helps you implement and maintain lasting behavior change using motivational interviewing. They guide you to become your vision of wellness and reach your goals. A coach is a positive influence, cheerleader, and supporter. They are not a counselor or expert giving advice, but rather someone who will listen deeply, reflect, and inquire in a way that leads to change and growth. You decide what we talk about, where we go, and how deep we dig.

Who can benefit from Wellness Coaching?
Wellness Coaching is for those ready to make a change. It is for anyone seeking to become their vision of wellness, reach their goals, and implement sustained behavior change. Wellness can involve anything regarding your physical, nutritional, occupational, intellectual, social, emotional, spiritual, or financial goals. Coaching helps you thrive.
What do Coaching Sessions Look like?
Typically, I will meet with you via video or phone call. It starts with a complementary 15-minute call where I answer any questions, discuss needs, and go through a basic wellness assessment. Once you decide to pursue coaching, we'll begin with an initial 60-minute meeting. We will then have however many 40-minute subsequent sessions you want. Sessions entail collaborating to create a personalized wellness vision, designing goals, follow-up, and further tailoring of those goals. Ideally, coaching lasts 3 months (about 12 sessions).

What is the difference between personal training and wellness coaching?
Put simply, personal training is exercise for your body while wellness coaching is exercise for your mind.
What is the difference between wellness coaching and Therapy?
Coaching is focused on leveraging the strengths and resources a person has to help them reach their goals, provide guidance, and design solutions. Coaches focus on the here and now whereas therapists typically focus on addressing past traumas. Additionally, therapists assess, diagnose, and treat mental illness while wellness coaches do not. Therapists are regulated by standardized licensure and Wellness Coaches are unregulated.
